Seed breeding: Lidea
ES Latino is a new hybrid variety of winter oilseed rape by LIDEA, with very high health against diseases such as Phoma, Sclerotinia, Cylindrosporioza and Verticilium and with a very high yielding potential confirmed in the COBORU 2020 registry results
Crop quality:
In the variety of winter oilseed rape ES Latino there is a gene for resistance to blackleg (Phoma) - RLM 7 gene. The RLM 7 gene during rape infection by fungus protects the plant against disease in a specific way.

Physiology:
The ES Latino winter oilseed rape plants are medium-high, but without a clear tendency to lodging or shedding, which facilitates harvesting.
Rapeseed builds a yield mainly on side branches, therefore the sowing rate should not be drastically increased above the recommended upper limit (see category: standard and sowing date).
ES Latino rapeseed has a medium-early maturation date.
Sowing date:
Due to the good early vigor, we do not recommend sowing hybrid oilseed rape too early. You should adjust to the humidity conditions and start sowing on the date recommended in a given area. In the event of inability to meet the sowing date - departure to the field may be delayed up to 7-10 days from the recommended date.
Sowing rate:
- 40-50 seeds / m2
- ES Latino, despite its very good early vigor, does not tend to autumn root neck elongation, therefore it can be sown in the upper limit of the recommended standard in good sites.
