Description of the variety:

PRINCE F1 is a hybrid variety in a wide range of Rapool products. Registered in 2017 as one of the first to be resistant to turnip jaundice virus (TuYV). Recommended for cultivation in medium to very good positions. Compact variety with plants of medium height resistant to lodging. In autumn, it creates a flat rosette, which allows very good preparation of plants for wintering. Due to the good vigor of initial development, it can be sown at a delayed date. Very high tolerance to the most common diseases such as dry rot or scleroderma. It stably yields in various growing conditions. Early flowering and mid-maturing variety.

The turnip jaundice virus (TuYV) gene ensures its dynamic growth and building biomass both in the autumn and after winter. In the conducted experiments, PRINCE F1 differs from conventional hybrid varieties both in the optimal and delayed sowing date, which translates into the yield.

The cultivation of rape is becoming more and more demanding. It is influenced by many factors: biotic, abiotic or agrotechnical. In addition, the length of vegetation, undergoing the winter rest period or large biomass causes that farmers' expectations of varieties are constantly increasing. We are looking for those that contain a lot of features positively affecting the stability and repeatability of yield. In recent years, the lack of effective pest control was influenced by mild winters and the lack of seed dressings. The consequence is an increase in pressure from pests, especially aphids, which are known to be vectors of the turnip jaundice virus. This dangerous viral disease causes yield drops. Therefore, it is worth paying attention to those varieties that possess the virus resistance gene.
