A mineral, natural agent that improves the physicochemical properties of the soil, easy to use, supports plant growth. The agent can be used in the cultivation of all types of vegetable and fruit plants. Recommended especially for light or too firm soils with too low pH.
Worth remembering:
The meal consists mainly of silicon oxide (silica). Among other things, silica gives the stems hardness and thus also protects them against attacks by diseases and pests. In addition, basalt meal contains nearly 20% of aluminum oxide, and nearly 5-10% of iron oxide, as well as magnesium, calcium, and sodium.
Basalt meal has a pH of 7.6, which means it is alkaline. It should not be used to fertilize acidophilic plants (rhododendrons, blueberries, garden hydrangeas, azaleas or heathers).
Powdered basalt is also used as a natural plant protection agent, which is worth using to fight diseases and pests, snails and to treat seeds. It is enough to sprinkle pests or diseased plant fragments with flour.
BENEFITS:
improves the structure of the soil
activates the development of beneficial soil microorganisms
maintains moisture in the soil
by creating a protective barrier around the flower bed, also combats slugs / mechanical action
