Shii Take has been cultivated in Japan for centuries due to its properties supporting the condition of the body, which has been confirmed in numerous studies. Under natural conditions, it occurs in Asia, on dead or dying deciduous trees, especially oaks, beeches or species similar to them.
The hat of this species has a diameter of 5-12 cm. Its color is variable - from light brown, through reddish brown to greyish brown. Cap skin with hairy scales from white to brown. The cap of young mushrooms is bell-shaped. It straightens out as it matures. The margin is slightly incurved, often felty. The white-gray to brown stem is 3-10 cm long and up to 1.5 cm thick. It is covered with delicate brown scales.
These mushrooms are suitable for drying and the aroma of dried mushrooms is stronger than that of fresh mushrooms. After drying, hardwood still retains the properties that support our body.
