Properties:
Winnie is the newest 6-row winter barley variety for feed. It is known for its record-high and stable yield levels in Poland, being the highest yielding variety in 2021 and 2022. It is registered in Germany and undergoing registration trials in Poland.
Winnie exhibits excellent adaptability to various climatic and soil conditions, making it suitable for cultivation in all regions and sowing dates. It is recommended for medium-intensive and intensive cultivation technology on barley soils.
Winnie barley boasts one of the highest winter hardiness in Poland (5.0 on a scale of 90) and good disease resistance. It has particularly high resistance to BYDV (barley yellow dwarf virus) (7.5 on a scale of 90), powdery mildew, barley rust, and rhynchosporiosis. No special attention is required in the protection program for any of these diseases.
Winnie is a taller variety with good lodging resistance. It has thick and heavy grain (MTN 50 g), with very high uniformity, exceptional density, and a small proportion of the tail.
Winnie is a medium-early variety with very good tillering. A reduced seeding rate is recommended. The optimal seeding rate is 240-260 germinating seeds per m² (approx. 130-140 kg). Reduce the seeding rate by 10% for early sowing and intensive cultivation technology. Increase the seeding rate by 10% for delayed sowing.
