Rooting fertilizer for herbaceous cuttings is a concentrated multi-ingredient liquid rooting fertilizer for use during rooting of herbaceous cuttings and after planting rooted plants. An optimally composed recipe rich in macro- and micronutrients stimulates the production of hair roots responsible for the uptake of nutrients. Fertilizer used during plant rooting ensures proper growth of the root system.
The fertilizer contains an increased dose of phosphorus, which affects the intensive development of the root system. The starting dose of nitrogen supports the plant in creating aboveground parts. A number of micronutrients also support root production. Zinc is a stimulator of the production of auxins - plant hormones. Auxins condition cell division, which in turn contribute to the formation of adventitious roots. It is after cutting the seedling and placing it in water that adventitious roots are formed on the above-ground shoots of plants.
A simple recipe for a herbaceous seedling:
Houseplants for herbaceous cuttings, e.g.: Kalanchoe, American violet, Triple flowers, pot begonias, Grudnik, Anginaceae and many succulents
Trees, shrubs and climbers propagated by herbaceous cuttings, e.g.: birch, catalpa, Podolian percussion tree, ornamental cherry, elm, Japanese ginkgo, common heather, cotoneaster (only species that shed leaves), forsythia, some fuchsias, garden hydrangea, climbing hydrangea, syringa, cinquefoil, some clematis, common ivy, wisteria.
To take a seedling, cut the green part of the plant with at least one node (the place from which the leaves grow). Then tear off the lower leaves so that they do not come into contact with water, as they could rot. Exceptions are some plants, e.g. American violet, which is propagated from cuttings in the form of a leaf. So prepared seedling is immersed in water. Until the root system is formed by the seedling, the water in the container should be regularly replenished.
Composition:
CE fertilizer
- nitrogen (N) - 3.5%
- phosphorus (P2O5) - 11%
- potassium (K2O) - 3.5%
Micronutrients:
- copper (Cu)* 0.008%,
- iron (Fe)* 0.08%,
- manganese (Mn)* 0.06%,
- zinc (Zn)* 0.06%
* chelated by EDTA
Method of application
Water the cut herbaceous cuttings, shoots, and transplanted into larger pots already rooted plants.
Rooting green cuttings:
The fertilizer should be used when the substrate for seedlings is not enriched with other fertilisers. Make a water solution by dissolving 10 ml of fertilizer in 1-2 l of water. After placing the seedling in the substrate, water it with the prepared solution once every 2 weeks until the seedling produces roots. The solution is enough for 20-50 seedlings.
Blowing out rooted plants and repotting:
Make a water solution by dissolving 10 ml of fertilizer in 1-2 l of water. After planting plants rooted in water or transplanting, water them with the prepared solution once every 2 weeks, until the optimum moisture content of the substrate is obtained.
Use only when necessary. Do not exceed the dose
