- Bread variety of winter wheat (class A / B) bred in HR Smolice
The manufacturer is HR Smolice
Properties:
- the highest yields are obtained in regions II, III, IV, V and VI.
- high frost resistance, verified during the cold winter of 2012, hence the possibility of cultivation in all regions of the country - rating 5 according to COBOR
- short and stiff straw - height 88 cm
- high resistance to lodging in the phase of milk maturity and very high before harvest
- good resistance to diseases of the stem base (possible cultivation in a stand after cereals) and mildew
- very good resistance to brown rust
- high resistance to brown leaf spot, leaf and chaff septoriosis and ear blotch
- it yields well on acidified soils with a high concentration of aluminum
- average heading and maturity
- good resistance to fouling in the spike and a very high falling number
- very well uniform grain, large with a MTZ of 45-48 g
- good quality parameters: protein content - 13.6%, sedimentation number - 69, gluten content - 30.7%
Taking into account the recent problems with wheat overwintering, it is worth considering the cultivation of the Belissa winter wheat variety registered in 2014. Already in the context of winter hardiness, it is a creation worth recommending. In a situation where in many parts of the country we were struggling with the dream of wheat, Belissa did so well that COBORU increased the winter hardiness parameter to 5 ° after winter 2016 (rating on a 9 ° scale). The frost resistance of the variety was also verified during the unfortunate winter of 2012, when it was tested in registry experiments. Good resistance to low temperatures certainly contributed to the fact that the variety hit the register.
The variety is suitable for cultivation in various environments, in various positions and after various forecrops.
It is a modern variety intended for both normal and intensive cultivation conditions.
BELISSA winter wheat was entered into the national register of varieties in 2014. Many very favorable features allow it to be included in the group of very valuable Polish varieties. It belongs to the bread varieties (A / B) with very stable quality parameters, most of its technological features are equal to the model variety of Tones, and its great advantage is very high pre-harvest resistance to fouling (9 on the 9-point scale with 6 on the model variety). It is worth noting the high fertility of the variety.
Belissa is characterized by good winter hardiness (scale 5), hence good yielding results almost all over the country. The high frost resistance was verified in the winter of 2012, when the sown crops of this variety of winter wheat, as very few, had a good overwintering.
High fertility is also favored by resistance to most fungal diseases, namely:
good resistance to diseases of the stem base,
powdery mildew,
brown leaf spot,
leaf and chaff septoriosis,
spike blight and very good resistance to brown rust.
It is a variety with shorter straw (average height - 88 cm) and very high resistance to lodging, both during wax maturity and before harvest.
The tolerance to high concentrations of aluminum ions is also important, so it is suitable for cultivation on acidified soils.
Belissa winter wheat is therefore a variety that combines many beneficial features desired by producers, therefore it has a chance to become one of the most popular winter wheat varieties in our country intended for cultivation in normal and intensive conditions. It is suitable for cultivation in various environments, in various positions and after various pre-crops.
