Characteristics:

  • catch crop variety,
  • has a slightly flattened root with a spherical shape and purple and white color,
  • fodder turnip requires moist soils,
  • achieves the highest yields on clay-sandy soils,
  • the variety does not tolerate acidic soils,
  • the plant can be grazed successively, straight from the field, after about 3 months from sowing to the first frost,
  • turnip roots are resistant to storage in mounds until December,
  • the leaves contain more dry matter and bitter substances than the roots,
  • turnip in fresh form (from the field) is perfect for feeding animals.


Sowing rate:

  • 3-4 kg/ha at a depth of 1.5-2 cm in 40-50 cm spacing (plants every 15-30 cm in a row)
